I just started cycling last January though not seriously at first. The first few months I have been riding my bike for about 1-2 times a week for 2-3 hours per session but I found a group of cyclist who are strong and hella fast. To put things in perspective my average riding speed is about 20-22 km/h (12 mph) but these guys run at 36-40 km/h ( 22-25 mph). Jesus Christ! I tried to keep up with them but I can only sustain it for 20-30 mins and to think that these guys do it for hours. I'm just a newbie and been riding more or less for 4 months but I will train myself until I can keep up with them for the whole duration of their ride.
I'm planning my first 100 km ride or what they call a 'century' but i won't be anytime soon as I am waiting for my fried to come back from abroad (Japan) and he won't be here for 4 more months. Until he comes back I will be training my ass off until I can do a century in 3 hours. And I will be posting here the routes and views of the places I will visit.
